The 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo And Turbo S will make their debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. As you probably know the Carrera and Carrera S will now have a smaller 3.0-liter flat-six turbocharged engine. The new power plant offers 20 more horsepower than the outgoing naturally aspirated variant.
This 20 horsepower increase appears to be a theme for Porsche as they have announced that the 911 Turbo and Turbo S will both get a 20 horsepower output increase. It does this while still using a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with a few modifications over the last unit.
Just how did they achieve these new higher power outputs? They managed it through modified intake ports in the cylinder heads, new fuel injectors, and higher fuel pressure. The result is a Turbo that now offers 540 horses and 523 lb.-ft. of torque. The Turbo S is even more extreme with a 580 horsepower and an earth moving 553 lb.-ft. of torque.
So, what is the result of these changes? If you go for the standard 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo you get a car that can rocket from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and keep going all the way to 198 mph.It gets even better in the Turbo S. It can now launch from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and keep going all the way up to 205 mph. That puts in serious performance territory. As is usually the case with 911s the styling has evolved. The changes are not very noticeable, but the redesigned front end lets you know the difference from the new generation and the last. It now has side air blades in the front facia and narrow LED front lights with double fillets that promote the width of the car, as does the additional fin in the central air intake. Outside all turbos now come standard with 20-inch wheels.
Inside the story is much the same. there are very few changes in the design of the interior, but now all Turbos come standard with the Sports Chrono Package. This means you get the GT sports steering wheel from the 918 Spyder as well as the performance boost.

Verstandigste keuze : 991 MKII carrera 370PK/169 gr uitstoot (PDK, helaas).
