Ben die ook al gaan bekijken, ikzelf noem dit een 964 wrak, overal roest, rode voorbumper die overspoten is, airbag die afgegaan is, water onder de achterzetels enz…
Als ge veel wil investeren moe je den deze zeker kopen!!!

That said, The last six numbers of the VIN for a Cayman R always start with a 79XXXX. A Cayman S will always start with 78XXXX and a Base Cayman with a 76XXXX. No exceptions. The lowest number I found for a Cayman R is 792065 and the highest number was 793486. That’s a ‘spread’ of 1421 cars. I’m sure the VIN’s are in chronological order and don’t believe they include European cars – but don’t know for certain. I was also given a tip by someone who seemed to know that the first 64 cars [or thereabout] that they make of each model are destroyed to make sure they meet/exceed the safety standards for the USA/Canada so if the Cayman R started with VIN 790065 [which I think they would have] and the highest number I’ve seen is 793486 then at least 3421 Cayman R’s were built. I’m guessing most of the early Cayman R’s were snapped up by ‘hard core’ Porsche owners.

just been looking on the planet-9 forum and their (usa)last chassis numbers for end of build(feb.2012) are in excess of 3500(last 4 digits).on the porsche approved site chassis numbers are already hitting 1500(for cars that were registered end of 2011 early 2012).correct me if i am wrong but you have 2 sets of chassis numbers usa and row(rest of world).so that would put the cayman R build in excess of 4000,twice as many boxster spyders
