Nog een keertje de nieuwe RUF CTR Yellowbird, dubbel op de stand in Genève. Lijkt een “gewone” oude luchtgekoelde te zijn, maar is een compleet nieuw ontwikkelde carbon car. Mevrouw Ruf stond op de stand, maar die is niet van hetzelfde visueel kaliber als mevr Koenigsegg :engeltje:

As we return to the factory, Ruf is keen to stress the car we’re driving is still a prototype. ‘It’s the car we’ve used for development, and I’d say it’s 92 per cent there.’

The other eight per cent, he says, will be aimed at tightening up the panel gaps, addressing some of the wind- and road noise, sorting the trip computer display, increasing the volume of the indicator clickers and some further cosmetic work in the pared-back cabin. I ask him if he will build a 30th CTR for his garage. ‘No,’ he says, ‘I’m keeping this prototype for myself.’ And then he hands me its key and smiles.

Porsche 917 concept – 50th anniversary

The Porsche 917 design concept, revealed today to mark the 50th anniversary of the unveiling of the original 917 race car back in 1969, has flattened out the bulbous body of the old car, instead offering a sleek, low and long look that seems like a natural progression of the styling on the Porsche 918.
