4.07.2019 – Home game for Porsche: On July 20 and 21, 2019, the “Solitude”, a former racetrack in front of the gates of Stuttgart, comes alive again for a weekend. In the “Solitude Revival”, the Porsche Museum sends legendary racing cars onto the closed course for a few demonstration laps, which is located only 15 kilometers southwest of the main plant in Zuffenhausen.

Among others, a 550 A Spyder from the year 1956, with which Hans Herrmann competed in the “Solitude” in the same year, as well as the rally legend Walter Röhrl will drive the 356 B Carrera GTL Abarth (1961). The 718 Formula 2 of 1960, reminiscent of the first formula race on the “Solitude”, will also race on the ring. With this race car John Surtees took the second place in the “Grand Prix Solitude” in 1960. Two years later, Dan Gurney won the Formula 1 race in the Porsche 804 (1962). Neel Jani, Le Mans winner of 2016, presents him at the “Solitude Revival”. Janis former teammate Marc Lieb controls the 917 KH in Gulf colors from 1970, as does the motorsport icon Hans-Joachim Stuck.

A visit to the paddock is also worthwhile: If you want to experience the past and present Porsche racers up close and personal, then you have the greatest chance in the tent of the Porsche Museum. In addition to the former Porsche factory driver Herbert Linge, in whose honor a special run of the “Solitude Revival” bears his name, racing legend Hans Herrmann is expected. Eberhard Mahle celebrates an anniversary on this occasion: 60 years ago, the racing driver started here with three different cars. He has won two of the three races. Visitors can also talk to the two former Porsche engineers Günter Steckkönig and Hans Clausecker.

In addition, the sports car manufacturer presents itself with other exhibits and offers from the museum shop. With the ticket of the “Solitude Revival” the spectators pay only 4 instead of 8 Euro admission to the Porsche Museum. This offer is valid until December 31, 2019 .

The “Solitude Revival” is an event for the demonstration of historic racing and road vehicles on the former Solitudering near Stuttgart , which consists of public roads and is specifically blocked for this occasion. Among others, racing motorcycles and racing motorbikes up to 1979, racing and sports cars up to 1947, racing sports cars and prototypes from 1948 to 1979, GT and racing touring cars from 1948 to 1979 and Formula racing cars from 1948 to 1976 will be among them.
